Devansh Agarwal currently works as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at AWS, where he develops cutting-edge AI solutions for enterprise modernization. His journey in technology spans from building India’s first VR product for the architecture industry to leading machine learning initiatives at Amazon.

In 2023, Devansh was selected as one of six Ignite Fellows by Cornell University, receiving a $240,000 award to transform his research into a commercial venture. This prestigious fellowship recognized his innovative work in AI and human-computer interaction.

Devansh holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Cornell University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering from IIT Hyderabad, where he graduated ranked first in his department. His academic excellence is matched by his research contributions, having published multiple papers in top AI and HCI conferences and receiving the National Science Foundation I-Corps award.

Current Work

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at AWS, I’m working on AWS Transform, the first agentic AI service for transforming .NET, mainframe, and VMware workloads. This groundbreaking service accelerates enterprise modernization by up to 4x using specialized AI agents trained on 19 years of AWS migration experience.

My work enables:

  • 4x faster .NET application porting from Windows to Linux
  • 80x faster conversion of VMware network configurations to AWS
  • Up to 40% reduction in operating costs by removing Windows license dependencies
  • Parallel processing of hundreds of applications simultaneously

Research & Recognition

My research spans Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and Human-Computer Interaction. I have published multiple research papers in top-tier conferences and have been recognized as an Outstanding Reviewer for prestigious venues including IMWUT, and UIST.
